Air Jordan 9 “LA (Summit White)” Release Date,The 2018 NBA All-Star Game will be played next year at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California on February 18th, 2018. However, it seems that the NBA has changed the All-Star Game format for the 2017–18 Season. For the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, players will be selected into one of two teams by each captain, regardless of the conferences they play in. The captain of each conference will be the player who receives the most fan votes. While 2017 has yet to end, Jordan Brand is already ready to commemorate next year’s All-Star Game with one of their Jordan releases 2018.2018 will not only be the year of the 67th annual NBA All-Star game, it will also mark the Air Jordan 9’s 25th anniversary. In commemoration of both these occasions, Jordan Brand seems to have whipped up a Los Angeles-themed iteration of the Air Jordan 9, which has been dubbed “LA (Summit White).” Boasting premium aesthetics, its uppers appear to be made up of sleek Black-colored suede and classic White-colored tumbled leather overlays. The branding on its heels and tongues are apparently overed in Metallic Gold. Since this colorway is inspired by and reflects Los Angeles, the insoles sport graphics based on the city’s map, and the sneaker is also equipped with milky, translucent outsoles.
As per the new format, two players that are voted captains will then select 12 players from each conference for the 2018 NBA All-Star Game. 5 players, who will be starters, will be selected from each conference, based on a 50% fan vote, 25% player vote, and a 25% media vote. The head coaches of each conference will also select 7 reserves for the two teams. As a result of this new format, players who are currently teammates in their respective conferences may end up playing against each other in the All-Star Game. The All-Star voting is scheduled to kick off on December 25th, 2017, i.e. Christmas Day.
As mentioned, the 2018 NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 18th, 2018, but this sneaker will end up joining the Air Jordan releases 2018 scheduled to arrive at retailers earlier that month. It has already been confirmed that the Air Jordan 9 “LA (Summit White)” will hit the shelves next year on February 3, 2018 and will retail at a price of $190.
Air Jordan 6 “Chinese New Year” Release Date,As many readers might be familiar, the Chinese Zodiac or Sheng Xiao is based on a 12-year cycle, with each year in the cycle corresponding to a specific animal sign. The Chinese lunar calendar is used to determine the animal sign that corresponds to a particular year. For instance, 2017 was the Year of the Rooster, or more specifically the Year of the Fire Rooster. The next Year of the Rooster will be 2041. As for 2018, it will be the Year of the Dog. To celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Dog, it seems that the Jordan releases 2018 an Air Jordan 6 “Chinese New Year.”
The remainder of Air Jordan releases 2017 for the second half of the year will apparently include several different Air Jordan 6 releases, such as the “Gatorade,” “UNC” and “Wheat” colorways. Next year, it will 26 years since the Air Jordan 6 debuted back in 1991 and Jordan Brand seems to have chosen it for the annual Chinese New Year release. The photo above is not actually of the “Chinese New Year” colorway of the Air Jordan 6. However, it will reportedly be dressed up in a combination of Black, Metallic Gold, Summit White, and multiple other colors.
There is a possibility that the sneaker might be a China-exclusive release, but fortunately, the sneakerheads there will actually be able to rock a pair on the day of the Chinese New Year 2018. It is being reported and rumored that January’s Jordan releases 2018 will include the Air Jordan 6 “Chinese New Year,” which might actually hit the shelves on January 27th, 2018.
The Year of the Dog will begin on February 16th, 2018. In the 12-year Chinese Zodiac cycle, the Dog happens to be the 11th animal sign. The dog is considered quite a favorable animal by the Chinese. In the Chinese Zodiac, each of the 12 animal signs also corresponds with one of 5 elements, and each of these five elements repeats after a 60-year cycle. As mentioned, 2017 was the Year of the Fire Rooster. Similarly, 2018 will be the Year of the Earth Dog. People born in the Year of the Dog are believed to possess positive characteristics like cleverness, courage, liveliness, loyalty and responsibility.
Jordan’s 23 is back with this Air Jordan 6 All Star release for 2017. Dubbed as the “Chameleon”, you can instantly tell why the Air Jordan team opted for this particular name.Right off the bat, the shoes have this out-of-this-world greenish hue that can be seen extending along the bottom part of the shoes where the soles meet the body of the kicks. It is heavy enough to be easily seen in daylight but subtle enough that it goes completely during dark. In fact, that is one of the reasons why this shoe is dubbed the Chameleon. That is not all though! Viewed under a different lighting and a different angle – these shoes actually take on a bluish violet color!
The rest of the kicks are done in the same color, but with a fading shade that makes it almost black to the eyes. The soles are kept dark with strategic translucent outsoles providing a light contrast to the overall heavy coloring. It goes without saying that the tongue is done in the same majority shade. The tongue in this case sports the word JORDAN in raised letters. The only sign of the Jumpman logo from the front can be seen on the lace lock.
Speaking of laces – the shoelace here is done in basic black. We’re extremely grateful for that considering how laces are easily lost or damaged. It pays to have an Air Jordan shoe with basic laces for easy replacement. Note though that the aglet of the Chameleon is colored so you would want to keep the original laces safe in any case. From the back is another Jumpman logo. Unlike the typical no-border Jumpman however, the icon is placed inside a hexagon – further boosting the ‘alien’ feel of the kicks. We’re pretty sure Air Jordan fashioned these kicks with extraterrestrial in mind.
Price and Release
One of the more stunning Jordan releases 2017, the Chameleon will sell for $225 – making it just a tad pricier than the typical Air Jordan issue. This is actually expected considering the uniqueness of the colorway not to mention the notoriety of the silhouette. The only question is: when will it be available? According to reports, you should see the Chameleon in shelves on the 16th of February, just a few days after Valentines.
Do you like them? If you do – better make sure you’re one of the few who gets them when they hit the stores. If not, you can always check out other 2017 AJ releases.
Girl’s Air Jordan 6 “Light Blue” “Pantone” Release Date,Sneakerheads who have a budding Nike sneaker collection are probably familiar with the Pantone color scheme. For those who do not know what Pantone means or what it really is, it refers to the standardized Pantone color matching/numbering system that is utilized to identify colors. When the colors are standardized, a Pantone numbered color can be referenced by various manufacturers without directly interacting with each other. This ensures that colors being used match and are standardized. In fact, there is an entire Pantone solids palette. The hue that can be seen covering this brand new Air Jordan 6 iteration featured is also from the “Pantone” solids palette.
The fact of the matter is that there are a total of 1,114 colors that are included in the Pantone solids palette. Either a three or four digit number with a suffix of C, M, or U is assigned to each color so that they can be identified. The Pantone system was originally designed to be used by those in the graphics industry, but now a large variety of industries are using the solids palette, and it is the most commonly used Pantone colors palettes. In the beginning of this year, Nike had even dropped pastel-hued renditions of the Air Force 1 that were dressed up in Rose Quartz and Serenity, the Pantone “Colors of the Year” for 2016.
