Air Jordan 11 Retro 72-10 Release Date
The release of Jordan 11 was preceded by the return of Michael Jordan to the court and Tinker Hatfield as the designer of Jordan shoes, who had designed this pair as well. The main reason behind the popularity of Jordan 11 was the stunning and terrific design of the pair, which featured a clear rubber sole after such a long time and a new patent leather on the upper. The upper of the pair also had a carbon-fibre spring plate and the upper was coated in polymer, which enabled it to maintain its shape without stretching.
This year’s Air Jordan 11 release will apparently be inspired by the Bulls’ legendary 72-10 season.
The exact details surrounding the sneaker haven’t been confirmed, but there are plenty of rumors at the moment. Most descriptions of the shoe have it as sort of a “Space Jam” look with red branding–there are Photoshop renderings of a colorway like this floating around at the moment, but no actual images (the above is not an actual photo of this year’s Jordan 11 December release). Early talk says that the mesh on the upper will be replaced with leather.
Remember that Michael wore the Jordan 11 during the epic Chicago Bulls season in question.
The Air Jordan 11 “72 10” release date is Dec. 19, and the remastered sneaker will retail for $220.
Air Jordan 11 Retro “72 10”
Release Date: 12/19/15
Color: Black/Gym Red-White-Anthracite
Style #: 378037-002
The Air Jordan 11 will have similarities to the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” but will be featured with Red accents instead of Blue, as well as a iridescent-like glossy patent leather overlay. They’ll feature a thick premium leather upper build (instead of the traditional mesh), much like the prototype sample pair we seen awhile ago, that will sit atop a traditional Air Jordan 11 translucent outsole.
Other details will also include an embossed Jumpman logo on the back heel instead of embroidered, as well as a Blacked out ’23’ on the upper heel, along with the classic rope laces, Black/Red carbon fiber and the numbers “72” and “10” on the lace tips. You can also expect another raise in the retail price tag, as reports have them set for $220 USD. The shoes will come housed in the traditional slide out packaging.
