Every opportunity he gets, Russell Westbrook honors his late friend, Khelcey Barrs III. Khelcey has been a source of inspiration and motivation for him. Remembering his friend has given Russell Westbrook an extra drive and push throughout his professional basketball career. Consequently, not only has he become one of the greatest talents in the sports and accomplish what Khelcey could potentially have, had he still been around today. Thus, Russell Westbrook has nicknamed his latest Jordan Why Not Zer0.2 colorway Khelcey Barrs III.

Actually, every Jordan Why Zer0.2 colorway to have hit the shelves so far has honored Khelcey Bars III due to a Black-colored mark that appears on the medial sides of the toeboxes. This particular iteration is multicolored, dressed up in almost pastel-like shades that include Atmospheric Grey, Gunsmoke, Vast Grey and White, all of which make it look somewhat Easter-themed as well. Nonetheless, the medial side of the left shoe’s heel has a tag that has “KB3” printed over it. Russell Westbrook’s own signature can be spotted over the heel tags. This tribute colorway will be among Air Jordan releases 2019 making arriving on in the coming weeks.

Khelcey Bars III and Russell Westbrook spent most of their childhood playing basketball, either on the court or at Khelcey’s place, playing NBA Street on his GameCube. Khelcey passed away at the age of 16 after suffering a heart attack while at the gymnasium of the Los Angeles Southwest College. It was later discovered that he actually had an enlarged heart, something that not even Khelcey himself knew about. The same day that Khelcey collapsed at the gym, Russell had been playing on the third court there, although he was not present when his friend took his last breath. It was this incident that ultimately fueled Russell Westbrook’s determination.

One of this year’s Air Jordan releases 2019 for Black Friday will be the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Bred,” which is apparently returning. It might have surprised you, at least a bit, that Jordan Brand is bringing back not one but two original “Bred” colorways this year. Of course, the other one is the returning Air Jordan 4 “Bred.” Jordan Brand has official confirmed that it is indeed hitting the shelves next month and unveiled actual, detailed photos of this year’s version. The Air Jordan 4 “Bred” makes its comeback on May 4th. The Air Jordan 1 High “Banned” or “Bred” returns during the 2019 Holiday Season.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Banned Bred

You might be wondering why Jordan Brand is bringing back the Air Jordan 1 High “Bred” as a part of their Holiday Season line up of Air Jordan releases 2019, even though they did the same two years ago. Even though this year’s version has not be unveiled, nor have any photos been leaked, you may have already figured out that it will look exactly like the original, including having a higher cut. Its uppers will be dressed up in the same color scheme of Black and Varsity Red, the latter also covering its outsoles, while its midsoles will be plain White.

The last time the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Banned / Bred” arrived at retailers was two years ago, on September 3th, 2016, and at the time, it was available for $160. Of course, the colorway does not require any introduction at this point. You likely also know that it was not exactly the Air Jordan 1 that the NBA banned Michael Jordan from wearing on the court and consequently fined him $5,000 when he did not oblige. Regardless, that does not change the fact that the Air Jordan 1 “Banned / Bred” is where the legacy of the Jordan Brand’s signature line began.

The Aleali May x Air Jordan Is Arriving Later In March 2019 For Women
In case you may have forgotten, Aleali May’s Air Jordan 6 colorway is nicknamed “Millennial Pink” and is even being referred to as “Rust Pink.” Although official photos of this colorway were published only recently, the sneaker itself had already been unveiled last year. It has also been confirmed that it will be joining this month’s upcoming Air Jordan releases 2019. This colorway actually gets one of its nicknames from the pastel Rust Pink hue that covers a majority of its uppers. Additionally, Bright Crimson also appears over the branding and other detailing. Once it hits the shelves, this Air Jordan 6 colorway will be available in women’s sizes.

The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball Team Received Air Jordan 6 PE
It is no secret that the Oregon Ducks basketball and football teams have a rather longstanding relationship with Jordan Brand, and have received numerous Air Jordan PE pairs over the years. Most recently, photos surfaced of an Air Jordan 6 PE colorway that was exclusively designed for the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team. Along with its plain White smooth leather uppers, it featured accents covered in a fluorescent Green hue as well as Black-colored detailing, matching the team’s “2.0” uniforms. Additionally, each shoe had an “O” perforated onto its outer side and featured a Metallic Silver-colored shroud to hide its satin-like laces from view.

Air Jordan 9 Retro “Dream It, Do It” Release Date

This year’s Air Jordan releases 2019 will include this Air Jordan 9 colorway dubbed “Dream It, Do It” inspired by Nike‘s historic slogan. Air Jordan 9 Retro “Dream It, Do It” Release Date 1

The Air Jordan 9 “Dream It, Do It” Is A Nod To The “Just Do It” Slogan
It is apparent that the “Dream It, Do It” nickname is inspired by Nike’s “Just Do It” slogan. However, the first thing you will likely notice about this Air Jordan 9 colorway is that the color scheme of the left and right shoe is mismatched. The overall color scheme though also seems to be inspired by the ‘90s. Despite being mismatched, the shoes have predominantly Black-colored uppers, with varying Dark Concord-, Teal– and University Red-colored accents. Each of the heels also features the embossed, circular “Jumpman” branding and the “23” beneath it. The Air Jordan 9 “Dream It, Do It” has actually already joined recent Air Jordan releases 2019.

The History Of Nike’s “Just Do It” Slogan
There is no doubt that Nike’s “Just Do It” slogan is nothing short of legendary. However, its origin is something that not even Nike’s most loyal fans may expect or know about. Dan Wieden, advertising executive and co-founder of the Wieden+Kennedy agency, was the one who coined the “Just Do It” slogan. While the slogan itself is supposed to be motivational, its origin is somewhat dark and macabre. Dan actually came up with this slogan after drawing inspiration from Gary Gilmore‘s last words “Let’s do it,” who had been executed back in 1977 for two different murders. Despite its morbid origin, “Just Do It” remains as Nike’s iconic slogan.
